BUILD SMART
ENDURA IS A MARKET LEADER
IN ENERGY EFFICIENT DESIGN
AND CONSTRUCTION.
DESIGN
A home's design can significantly reduce energy consumption and improve occupant heath. Our team of specialized architects and designers can help you through the design process and successfully meet your goals.
STYLE - All styles of homes can be energy efficient and sustainable. What separates our homes from conventional, code-built homes are the techniques and materials we use to significantly reduce energy consumption and improve performance.
ORIENTATION - Optimally locating a home on your property can maximize energy performance for heating and cooling and reduce the need for artificial lighting.
DURABILITY - The proper detailing of flashing, exterior moisture barriers, grades and drainage systems, and selection of products designed for durability can all lead to lower maintenance and better longevity for your new home.
INTEGRATED DESIGN - Each project includes a team of professionals - Designer/Architect, Energy Consultant, Mechanical Contractor, Plumbing Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Insulation Contractor, and Landscaper. Through scheduled meetings before, during and after construction, the team makes sure your project is cost-effective, superior in quality and performance, and meets your needs.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Endura Performance Homes is a market leader in energy efficient design and construction. Every home we build is energy modeled to determine energy consumption in an effort to reduce operating costs before your home is built.
BUILDING ENVELOPE -
Reducing air and thermal infiltration has the most significant impact on conserving energy for heating and cooling. This is done through proven techniques in our construction process.
RENEWABLE ENERGY -
Alternative sources of energy are becoming more and more feasible for residential projects. Through geothermal or air-to-air heating and cooling systems, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal options, we can potentially help your new home produce as much energy as it consumes.
SMART POWER MANAGEMENT -
Occupancy sensors, smart metering/energy monitoring, CFL & LED lighting , and using Energy Star rated appliances all contribute to lower electrical consumption and lower costs without changing your lifestyle habits.
COMFORT -
To improve efficiency and comfort, using the right equipment to heat and cool your home is important. By understanding your available fuel source and the efficiency of your home, we can determine the system that is designed specifically to your project.
AIR QUALITY
Indoor air quality is of supreme importance when it comes to your family's health. The typical indoor air environment in a non-ventilated, new home can be two to ten times more polluted than the outdoor air. Endura Performance Homes includes specific steps for improving the indoor air environment:
- ERV/HRV - Energy Recovery Ventilators are necessary to provide ventilation in your new home. ERV's replace stale, polluted indoor air with fresh exterior air, and recover up to 85% of the heat in the air that is being exhausted. Every house Endura Homes builds incorporates an ERV. This is not required by building codes, but we feel it is invaluable to your family's health and safety.
- NO/LOW VOC COMPONENTS - Most chemical based products, including adhesives, sealants, paint, carpets, and miscellaneous building materials, can off-gas chemicals for weeks, months, or even years after you move into your new home. Our focus is eliminating all sources of moderate- or high-VOC content materials when building a home.
EDUCATION
It is important that our homeowners understand how their new home is constructed and how it functions. From pre-construction through to occupancy, we discuss with our clients the advantages and process we use to build their home. Once complete, we provide a resource manual for guiding them in maintaining and understanding the key features that make their home unique.
We EDUCATE our clients and provide
them with RESOURCES to take advantage of
the unique features of their
BETTER PERFORMING HOMES.
CERTIFICATION
Certifying your new home is not a requirement - we're going to use the same methods to build it no matter what. The advantage to certification is that your home has met very stringent standards and has been confirmed through third party inspection. Also, our local Realtor Association MLS (Multiple Listing Services) recognizes green certifications. This can be very beneficial in the event you were to ever sell your home. Studies have shown a green certified home can achieve an 8% average increase in market value versus a conventionally built home.
LEED FOR HOMES CERTIFICATION - LEED certification provides a complete framework for accessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals. Based on well-founded scientific standards, LEED construction emphasizes state of the strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED recognizes achievements and promotes expertise in green building through a comprehensive system offering project certification, professional accreditation, training and practical resources.
NATIONAL GREEN BUILDING STANDARD™ - The NGBS certification goes beyond saying a home is energy efficient; it provides independent, third-party verification that a home, is designed and built to achieve high performance in six key areas: Site Design, Resource Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Building Operation & Maintenance.
